The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has been trying for years to find promotional ideas to place Canada among the global attractions of our tourism planet. Last idea: maple scent….

The Attire-Moi perfume, from the house of perfumer Galimard, in France, is the CCT's latest promotional tool. A maple scent.

An idea that popped into the head of Chantale Roux, co-director of the perfumer, after a visit last year to the Sucrerie de Rigaud sugar shack, owned by Pierre Faucher, a true syrup marathoner around the world. He is certainly the man I saw most often on planes, along with the former mayor of Montreal, Pierre Bourque. From the Lillehammer Olympic Games to tourism fairs, the man coats his pancakes with syrup, the arrow belt and the runner of the woods look.

La Sucrerie de Rigaud, according to the CCT, is an authentic Canadian sugar shack, located in the heart of a fifty-hectare maple grove, west of Montreal. The only authenticity that I recognize in it is that it receives all the illustrious people mandated by tourist agencies. We also note that the candy is a member of the Collection of Distinctive Experiences in Canada. Looking at the list of members, we note that 74 attractions are in the West, 27 in Ontario, and 19 in Quebec. We see the distinct geographic trend.

To explain the idea of this Attire-Moi perfume, Chantale Roux affirmed, regarding her visit to Rigaud, that the latter revived her childhood memories and her former representation of what Canada was with its maple groves. and the smell of maple. All that was missing was the caribou on the 40 and we were allowed two flavors…

Under the title “Canada intoxicates France” during the CCT’s presence at the last TOP Résa in Paris, with the scent of Quebec maple in support, we feel that we have flair.

The must for a tourist would be to perfume oneself with maple while going to the sugars, while avoiding the authentic skunks who have a horror of oral orgies.
